Stegosaurus Garden...
A whimsical stegosaurus rises above pink impatiens and Mona Lavender plectranthus. The stego’s weathered tones match the Japanese maples on either side in the background.
A new addition caused the side yard to significantly shrink. New, curved retaining walls, flagstone walkways and colorful plantings create an inviting, private space.
The narrow area along the back of the new addition comes alive with long-blooming shrubs, perennials and trees. The new stegosaurus provides a fun focal point seen through the family room’s French doors.
Raised beds bearing bountiful vegetables now fill an unused side yard, while lawn for a children’s play area carpets the remaining space.
Another look at the sinuous retaining wall and plantings.
The once drab front yard now presents an elegant vision, with plants in soothing swaths of green, silver and white. A large brick landing pad in the parkway welcomes guests, while a curving brick walkway leads them to the front door.
